After You Call
When you call, we ask what the door is doing - won't open, won't close, makes a bang and stops, or the opener runs but nothing moves. Most of the houses we work on around LaGrange went up between 1967 and 2000, with a median build year of 1973, so a lot of what we see is original hardware that's been repainted twice and never replaced: steel torsion springs sized for a door that's heavier than what's sold today, openers wired straight to a wall switch, tracks bent from a car bumper decades back. Telling us the age of the house, roughly, helps us bring the right spring size and the right opener parts on the first trip instead of a second one.
We don't need the model number of your door - most people don't have it anymore, and on a house this age the sticker's long gone anyway. We do need to know if the door is a single or a double, and whether it's still moving at all. If it's not moving and the spring looks snapped in the middle, don't try to force it by hand - that's the one repair that hurts people.

If you're closer to West Point, Hogansville, or Pine Mountain, we still come out; those towns sit within roughly 11 to 16 miles of our shop, and Franklin, Greenville, and Grantville are a bit further at 18 to 19 miles.
Distance changes how soon we can get there, not whether we will. If your call isn't an emergency - a door that still opens but is noisy, or a remote that's stopped talking to the opener - say so, and we'll fit it into the schedule rather than treating it like a stuck-open door in the rain.
What We Actually Do
We repair and replace garage doors and openers: torsion and extension springs, cables, rollers, hinges, bent or off-track sections, opener motors and circuit boards, and the sensors that stop a door from closing on something. Given how much of the local housing dates to the 1960s and 70s across the six main areas we work in, a good share of our calls are hardware that's simply aged out - springs that have cycled tens of thousands of times, openers with capacitors that finally gave up.
We also handle full door replacements when a panel is too rusted or dented to patch, or when the cost of chasing parts for an old door stops making sense next to a new one. What we don't do is drywall, framing, or electrical panel work beyond the opener's own circuit - if a job needs that, we'll tell you plainly instead of taking it on and figuring it out as we go.

We're a garage door repair outfit working out of LaGrange, not a call center dispatching to six counties. Median household income here runs around $53,914, and we price jobs with that in mind - we'd rather talk you out of an unnecessary opener upgrade than sell you one.
